Abstract New developments in single-cell genomics have transformed developmental biology recent years by enabling systematic analysis of embryonic cell types and differentiation trajectories. Ongoing efforts experimental computational method development aim to reveal gene-regulatory mechanisms provide additional spatio-temporal information about fate decisions. Here, we discuss technological as well biological applications genomics, with a particular focus on Although the approaches described here are generally applicable broad range model systems, our discussion zebrafish, which has proven be particularly powerful organism for establishing novel methods genomics.
